Ingredients:
- Makes 1 cup: light syrup-1 cup water, 1/4 cup sugar.
- makes 1 1/2 cups: simple syrup-1 cup water, 1 cup sugar.
- makes 2 cups: heavy syrup-1 cup water, 2 cup sugar.
- In a saucepan, bring the water and sugar to boil over medium-high heat. Boil for 30 to 45 seconds until the syrup is perfectly clear. stir to make sure all the sugar has dissolved, and remove from the heat.
- Allow the syrup to cool and pour it into a glass or plastic container. Store in the refrigerator.
